Note

Suite pour C.Basso et orchestre
The composer has given this title, perhaps irreverently but with a certain humor, because it is not so easy to write a suite for double bass and orchestra.
In fact, the repertoire is very stingy in this matter: Bottesini, Koussevitzky, the late Nino Rota and a few other composers have tried their hand at this not easy task. "Sconcerto" already the title itself suggests a musical joke.
In fact, this work, anomalous for the difficulty of the instrument, was born almost as a bet between two old friends, Franco Petracchi and Armando Trovajoli who, having fun, interpret a virtual journey through time.
Performed by Maestro Franco Petracchi at S.Cecilia with the orchestra of S.Cecilia, under the direction of Maestro Daniel Oren.
Blues: memory of the Night Club Allegretto: the thoughtlessness of youth Pavane: a moment of reflection Scherzo: the synthesis of a pleasant conversation between a virtuoso and a composer.
Edito Ricordi for double bass and orchestra, and double bass and piano reduction.
